Mona in Art……

……is the theme chosen by Fatma for our challenge this week on Sunday Postcard Art.
I’ve given Mona a bit of a zetti make over for mine!  Background was hand doodled and then inked over with adirondak dye based inks, then various things collaged on top.

Come over for a visit…..

…….made a new blog to put my handdrawn and painted stuff on.  Thought it seemed out of place next to the collage and mixed media pieces etc.
Not much there at the moment but it’ll grow!!

Showtime!

Our theme today and for this week on Sunday Postcard Art is showgirls.  I visited the Moulin Rouge with my postcard……..lots of bright acrylics sponged onto the background, then added a couple of vintage images of a moulin rouge dancer and an old poster, some white gel pen and then a little lettering to finish.

Altered cabinet card

After painting round her with gesso I added paint,  fabric lace, lace trim,  some old text paper, bit of stamping, some chalk ink, bit of white gel pen, some watercolour pencils, oh yes and some white correction tape around the edges……in other words I chucked just about everything at her!!

Try something new…..

….is the challenge over on Mixed Media Mondays.  Well I’ve certainly never altered spoons before!
I’ve signed up for a swap on Mail Art World for altered spoons (based on an idea seen in Cloth, Paper, Scissors) so thought I’d have a practice!  These are only teaspoons, for the swap I’ll use a larger spoon.
Firstly they were inked [...]
