A few cakes….

…. the first two are ones done just before Christmas.  Firstly one for a Star Trek Lover………

This one was for a young lady with a love of expensive shoes, her mum said it was the nearest she was likely to get to some of these !! LOL!

This last one was done couple of days ago, for a girl at work. She was having a surprise birthday party for her boyfriend and wanted a special cake for the occasion…..

…..is our theme this week over at SPA kindly chosen for us this week by Anne.  Totally ran out of time this week and by the time I got back from work yesterday all I really wanted  to do was sit down with a cuppa so decided to do just that and curl up with the laptop on my knee and create my entry for this weeks challenge digitally, so here is my postcard for this week……….

New Year, New Project……

……decided that one of my New Year resolutions is to actually knit a garment instead of just scarves so with that in mind thought I’d build up to it by trying my hand (no pun intended) at some fingerless gloves.  Followed a pattern and must say that although pleased with them I would have liked them to be a bit longer so next time might add some extra rows. Anyway here’s a pic of my first attempt at gloves (yarn is some self striping stuff I had laying around)…….

A little look……

….at the cake I made for work this year.  Was working Christmas Eve so thought I’d do a cake to take in with me.  Top layer is fruit and bottom layer is madeira cake, covered in sugarpaste and decorated with sugar models and a sprinkling of edible glitter for a little festive sparkle…….
